attendeeWelcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to Kodiak Copper's channel Discovery Metals and World Class of Mining Districts from the U.S. to Canada. And joining us as always, Chief Executive Officer, Claudia Tornquist. Welcome back.
Claudia Tornquist
executiveIt's great to be here. Thanks for having me, Kyle.
Unknown Attendee
attendeeIt's such a pleasure to have you to kick off the new year here. I kind of want to just expand on a broad conversation to give us a baseline going into 2022. And we're going to roll back a little bit because from your copper gold porphyry project in Southern British Columbia to your expansive project in Arizona, South of the border. Do you want to just touch and give some investors some insights on some of the milestones that stuck out to you in 2021?
Claudia Tornquist
executiveWell, 2021 was a very busy and successful year for our company. We were focused primarily on our MPD project in Southern British Columbia, copper porphyry project, where we made a discovery in 2020. So 15 years -- 15 months, sorry, ago. And so last year, we followed up with a very large drill program of almost 22,000 meters. And we're able to expand the discovery significantly from about 125 meters in length at the beginning of the year to almost a kilometer so more than 8x. And we're starting now to see some real size. So it was certainly a busy year drilling, and we're very pleased with where we got to for now. But obviously, still a lot more to come.
Unknown Attendee
attendeeNow just kicking off Q1, speaking about what's coming up here. I mean, Kodiak identifies new geophysical drill targets in your gate. So do you just want to kind of iterate and just offer some anecdotes to that news?
Claudia Tornquist
executiveYes. We just came out with this news today. We have this geophysical data now. We're actually still getting more. It's all a work in progress, but we are very pleased with the data as it really helps us targeting our drilling. The geophysical anomalies really correspond with the high-grade material mineralization we drilled. And so essentially now that we have these deeper geophysical data, we can target much better where to drill next. And we've seen some extensions to the gate zone, our discovery, where we will drill those to expand the mineralization there further. And most exciting is the discovery of a parallel lookalike geophysical response just 6 centimeters to the East of gate that we weren't aware of. Looks very similar in terms of geophysical response, and we'll obviously drill this target this year, and it will be very interesting what we can come up with there.
Unknown Attendee
attendeeSo yes, I guess it's a pretty exciting news to kick off the start of the year and kind of expanding broadly here as well. I mean we're sitting at a fascinating time for the commodities market and the mix, hyperinflation, Fed meetings, big tech offering, a lot of volatility. But we're finally seeing some light, especially in a lot of the commodity stocks, including Kodiak Copper. Do you mind just offering just some brief broader views for Q1? And just what investors can look forward to hear from your drill programs and just what you're paying most attention to?
Claudia Tornquist
executiveWell, for us, Q1, we still have some news coming from our drilling last year. So more drill results, and we're kicking off for a large drill program again. Just getting ready, Drills should be turning soon still in Q1, and then we'll be drilling throughout the year, 25,000 meters. And obviously, with the copper price being strong, and my personal view, I don't see copper going down to the levels we've seen in the last decade or so anytime soon. I think there's still a lot of room up for copper. So I'm very optimistic. And obviously, it's a good time to pushing forward a big copper project and a major discovery.
Unknown Attendee
attendeeYes. I don't think this could have timed out any better, and I really feel like this is going to be one of those years to really pay attention to these sectors, especially with the continued growth in renewables and a lot of the copper demand, let alone the other metals that you guys are finding. But on that note, Claudia, I definitely appreciate these insights today. Thanks so much for coming out.
Claudia Tornquist
executiveThank you.
Unknown Attendee
attendeeAlways a pleasure on that. Folks let us know what you think in that comment section below consider subscribing for those drill results and that news as it comes down the wire. But stay cool, stay awesome, and I look forward to catching you in the next one.
