Jigar Shah
attendeeThank you. Good morning, everyone. It is a pleasure to welcome you all on behalf of ICICI Securities to Visaka Industries Q3 FY '20 Earnings Conference Call. We have with us today on the call Mr. Vepa Vallinath, Director and CFO Visaka Industries. Thank you, and over to you, sir.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. Thank you, Jigar, and thank you to ICICI Securities for hosting this call. Dear friends, good morning, and welcome to all of you to Visaka Industries Q3 FY '20 Earnings Discussion. I'll straightaway get to the details. As we all know, the quarter has been a really tough one. We also had a union budget fees at the first of this month. So our Board had a thorough discussion on the union budget to understand what the future has in store for the company. We welcome -- the Board welcomes the measures taken in the union budget to improve the rural economy, with the split of measures addressed towards the various sectors. We are quite optimistic that the effects of this budget will be quite positive for Visaka's businesses. Now we shall get to the numbers. The total revenue for the company was flattish at INR 241.44 crore for the quarter under discussion. While the building products segment was at the same level as last year at INR 188.48 crore, the Spinning division revenue went up by about INR 2 crore. For the current year 9 months, the revenue dropped a marginal 1.67% over last year. This is despite a very bad quarter. The Cement Asbestos business degrew by 8% during the quarter and by 7.4% for the current year 9 months over last year. The EBITDA margins dropped to 9% this quarter compared to 14% last year. Hence, this business, which is totally oriented towards the rural economy, contributed to the overall decline in the bottom line of the company. For the 9-months period, the margins dropped to 12% compared to 17% last year. Even 12%, I think, is not bad, but we have seen much higher margins in this business before, and I'm sure we'll see the similar higher margins again in the future. The main reasons for this drop are volumes, which resulted in operating deleverage, coupled with inability to pass on any price increase in the price. However, we expect the scenario to improve in the next 2 quarters. While this is the case with the Asbestos Cement Sheet business which is not -- may not seem to be very encouraging, there's some really good news in other fronts. The Vnext boards and panels division, in which we are the market leader, has done really well in all fronts. The revenues grew 22% this quarter, and by 16% in the 9 months this year, who are corresponding figures of last year. In addition to the top line growth, the EBITDA margins entered double digits this quarter to about 11%. We expect this growth to continue and we are confident that this business will contribute significantly to the overall company's performance for the foreseeable future. These figures of growth and EBITDA margins are at a capacity utilization of 76% at the end of 9 months, and hence, they'll have adequate operating leverage to kick in as we go towards 100% capacity utilization. In this scenario, the work on the fourth plant at Coimbatore is progressing, and I hope to be able to give you an idea about the date by which it will be commercialized in due course of time. This unit, which will cost about INR 80 crores to INR 90 crores, is being funded fully from internal accruals. Like what -- like the way it happened with boards and panels initially, when they were launched, ATUM being an innovative product is taking time to pick up. We have also got international certification called a UL certification, to sell in the U.S. and European markets. We have already participated in 2 exhibitions in the U.S. so far. The latest being in the Intersolar Exhibition at Las Vegas, U.S. We expect this business also to pick up with time, since the inquiries have been great and the customers who have used them so far are very happy. The Spinning unit revenues grew 3.86% this quarter and 1.1% for the 9 months this year over last year. This business being a boutique business, as we always say, in a very bad textile market, we continue to do very well in this business because we have totally differentiated from the run-of-the-mill textile businesses. The EBITDA margins topped a healthy 14.9% this quarter compared to 12.5% last year. The corresponding figures of EBITDA margins for this 9 months in Spinning are 15% this year compared to 12.8% last year. We see good reason to continue good margins in the coming quarters as well. The share of Cements Asbestos' revenue in the overall revenues of the company reduced from 65.3% at the end of last year's 9 months to 61.5% at the end of this year 9 months. Similarly, the share of Cement Asbestos during this quarter came down to 54.7% from 59.8% last year's third quarter. Hence, we are confident that the cement -- while the cement sheets' business will continue to do well, we are slowly improving our alternative businesses with improving margins, which will augur well for the future of the company. And those 2 margins like in the Spinning, we are differentiated, we are the leader. And in the boards also we are the market leader, in the ATUM, we are an innovative product of one of its kind. So that's the kind of a differentiation and positioning we are creating in the other alternate businesses, also for the future. As the overall working capital days remained more or less the same, the net debt has come down to INR 241 crore at the end of December 2019 from INR 291 crore at the end of December 2018, which is a reduction of INR 50 crore. Hence, except EBITDA a bit of pressure in the Cement Asbestos business, which we consider temporary and which -- we have seen this kind of scenarios in the past. But for this, the company is doing very well and improving in all other businesses and on all fronts. As and when we get a little support from the cement sheet business, which may not be far off, we shall see an all-round performance in the company. With this confidence, the Board also declared an interim dividend of INR 10 per share. With this, I think I would end my presentation and would request the moderator to open the forum for question and answers.
Operator
operator[Operator Instructions] Our first question is from the line of Viraj Kacharia from Securities Investment Management.
Viraj Kacharia
analystCongratulations for decent numbers in such a challenging environment. Just had a couple of questions on the cement as well on the roofing part of the business, just I'm trying to understand, how is the pricing environment in the market? So in last couple of quarters, we were talking about certain players in the market engaging in a significant price war kind of situation, how are we seeing that now? And added to that, on the raw material, has that -- prices now stabilized? Or how do we see the raw material environment panning out?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. The raw material environment has stabilized for this year. I think all the prices are fixed per day up to March of next year, up till March of almost FY '21. So that is one thing. And the second thing is the price so far, there's not -- there's no increase in the price because, obviously, the volumes are under pressure. And -- but however, I think considering the reasonable raw material cost increase in the recent past, along with the rupee depreciation, and also when considering the fact that January to March and April to June are seasonal -- good seasons for the business, we expect prices to be firm and maybe grow a little bit during these 2 quarters and then hold them steady for the remaining part of the year. So that is the idea. I think we are optimistic that prices will improve during these 2 quarters and remain so for the remaining part of the year. And the raw material cost will remain the same throughout this year, having already increased and thereby improving the margins.
Viraj Kacharia
analystSo on the raw material front, you said it stabilized. So compared to, say, the 9 months, what kind of -- a raw material trend which we have seen over the first 9 months? When we say we have fixed the prices up till March of '21, what kind of further cost inflation we are talking about from that...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. The price increases would be in the order of anywhere between 6% to 8%.
Viraj Kacharia
analystSo there's a...
Vepa Vallinath
executive6% to 9%.
Viraj Kacharia
analyst6% to 8% further increase from the 9 months base, right?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. You can call it from -- for the 9 months, yes.
Viraj Kacharia
analystOkay. And on the demand side, if we look at the commentary and the numbers of [ major acme ] and certain others, they rule in semiurban. You see the market is reviving and you see sentiment is also improving. So are we seeing any demand coming back for our products? And added to that, on the pricing, and if you look at the steel prices in the last couple of months have started moving up again. So when we say we expect pricing to be firm, what kind of price increase we are talking about? Has that already been taken? Or in the process of being taken?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveIt is in the -- pricing, definitely, has been the matter of discussion in the last 1.5, 2 months. And the increase in the steel prices is a very welcomed thing for us. Because that gives us the leeway or the legroom to increase our own prices. Demand, yes. I think the demand is not as bad as it was in the second quarter and the first half of the third quarter. But still, I think we are still waiting for a significant improvement in the rural market and the demand for our product. I think the budgetary, the actions and the last year's monsoon and the crop coming in February, March, all these things will add to the rural sector. And therefore, the prices will improve. And what kind of a price increase? I think it's very difficult to guess now, but the price increases will still be, I think, now again we expect is that every month, 1.5 months, there will be some amount of a small, small dosages of price increase. And at least, I am personally looking at, at least 6% to 8% increase in the prices.
Operator
operator[Operator Instructions] We have a follow-up question from the line of Viraj Kacharia from Securities Investment Management.
Viraj Kacharia
analystOn the price increase, one, what you said is RM costs which we have built in for the next full year, it's around 60% and the price increase is also what we're talking about, will be in the similar fashion. So when we say we expect margins to increase, where exactly would that come from?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. Actually, after you left the call, I thought whoever calls next time, I would, I think, explain that answer properly. See, when we say 6% to 9% increase in raw material costs, that is a landed price of fiber, right? Landed price of fiber. And while raw material cost is -- will be about 50% of sales and fiber will be about 60% of raw material costs, which means about 30% of the sales price is fiber costs. So the price increase of 68% is on the 30%, which is about 2.4% of sales. Now if I can increase my sales price by about 6% to 8%, that means I'll have an increase of about 4% to 5% increase in the margins to start with. I hope I explained to you properly. You got the point.
Viraj Kacharia
analystHow is the rest of the cost components behaving? I mean fiber is only 30% of the sales. And say, the next other 20%, what kind of environment on costs?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveI think, yes. We all know that cement prices have been stable, rightly the time to increase but again they are coming down. Cement price is another. The other thing is of fly ash. And therefore, the other costs are more or less stable. They don't -- there will not be much of an inflation there. So it's only the fiber price which is a major factor here. And it's also a significant part of the raw material cost. Other parts will not increase so much. And we expect that some amount of reduction in the freight cost also by better distribution. And therefore, those other things also should add a little more to the margins. So currently, we are at about 9%, 10% of the margin. I think, there is a fairly good chance of going 15%, 16% very soon.
Viraj Kacharia
analystSo 9%, 10% is for the roofing part, right? Not the whole -- which we reported...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. 9%. Yes, yes, yes, 9% is the -- 9% to 10% is the roofing part. So that can easily go up to 15%, 16%. That's what I'm trying to say.
Viraj Kacharia
analystIn a year?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveBecause last year's quarter, yes -- no, not in a year's time. If things do well, I think these next 2 quarters, because these are the peak season, right? So during this period, we should be able to demonstrate. The price increases should take place months on months now. And the next 2 quarters, I think we should do well and then...
Viraj Kacharia
analystSo because we are already midway into Q4. So...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes, yes. We are.
Viraj Kacharia
analystBecause Q4 is in a way peak for us and still not taken a price increase, hence, I was trying to understand.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. The price increase is being taken. I think this month some amount of price increase will happen in the second part. And March again, there will be further increase in price. And from then onwards, the increase in prices will be faster. So this quarter should be better. And the next quarter, definitely should be much better. We should be able to get to that good margin. And we also expect the market to definitely improve because this is a season when the government spending also will start taking steps.
Operator
operator[Operator Instructions] The next question is from the line of Ritika Garg from Aequitas Investments.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystSir, could you throw some light on the boards and panels business, like what do we expect going forward? And what are the current margins?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. Boards and panels, I don't know whether you heard my initial comments...
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystI missed it.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. You heard so...
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystNo, I missed it.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveSo boards and panels -- oh, you missed it. Oh, that's the most important thing. In fact, I started saying there's some really good news other than grouping. The Vnext boards and panels, which -- in which we are already a market leader, has done on both the fronts very well. The revenues grew 22% this quarter over last year. And by 16 months -- 16% in the 9 months this year over the corresponding period of last year. In addition to the top line growth, the EBITDA margin entered double digits in the quarter to about 11%. And even in that, the Jhajjar plant, which is still -- has to come to a fairly good capacity utilization, if I really exclude the Jhajjar and see, just to see the demonstration of the margins capability in business, I think the older 2 plants together have generated about 13% EBITDA. So that means the margins are now reviving. And there's still further scope for the raw material cost reduction to take place and also further price rationalization to take place even without a price increase. So therefore, these 2 things added together. And right now, we are at a capacity utilization at the end of 9 months of 76%. So with the operating leverage further kicking in as we work towards 100% capacity utilization, as I have always said, that the margin should be upwards of 15% over a period of time in this business. And I think we are now seeing the signals very clearly and firmly and that is really interesting and exciting for the company. And the work on the fourth plant at Coimbatore is also progressing at about INR 80 crores to INR 90 crore being funded fully from internal accruals. As I said, I will be able to give that date when it will be commercialized in due course of time.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And sir, what is the capacity utilization at the Jhajjar plant? Has it broken even?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveJhajjar plant, close to breaking even, close to breakeven. The Jhajjar plant is about something around 50% capacity utilization.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And sir, what kind of growth do we expect next year?
Vepa Vallinath
executive20%-plus. And that's a minimum I'm looking at. And I think some inflection point, the growth level should go even higher. Because as we have seen in a bad quarter, even now, we grew 22%. And in this year, total -- so far in 9 months, we grew 19 -- 16%. This figure is not 20% only because of the second quarter of this year. Otherwise, we would have grown 20% even for 9 months.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And sir, how are raw material prices for this boards and panels business? How are pulp prices?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveHave come down to stable levels now. And -- but in our profitability, the average cost which gets debited in the end account is yet to come down to the current prices of raw materials. So there's still further some amount of reduction in the P&L level. But as far as procurement prices are concerned, they have come down to fairly good levels, and they are now stabilized.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. So could you tell me what are the gross margins for boards and panels business?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveOur gross margin is, if you just remove raw material costs, if you just take sales minus raw material cost, the gross margin, raw material is only about 35%, 36% of the sales price, where gross margins are at 65%.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And what are like expected gross margins that we expect for this business? Like what are sustainable gross margins?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveI think these gross margins should sustain. The only thing is the power and fuel and other things it will take, then it's about -- if you say remove the power and fuel and some other direct cost, in addition to the raw materials, the gross margins will be -- the margins will be about something around 50% to 55%. So then the next big cost that will come is the freight cost. Now the freight cost is something which is getting rationalized with the plant -- third plant coming. We already got the benefit of that in this patent and more benefit will come even as the Jhajjar plant's capacity utilization increases. And with the fourth plant at Coimbatore coming down, I think there will be a huge reduction in the freight cost. That will lead to much better improvement in EBITDA.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystSir, how much is freight cost as a percentage of sales for boards and panel?
Vepa Vallinath
executive19%. 18%, 19% right now, should come down to 12%, 13%.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. So -- but still now, we've not seen any improvement in freight costs?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveThere is. Has been about 2% to 3% in -- 2%, 3% improvement. We had been at 20%, come down to about 17%, 18% now. But as -- now the spread becomes 4 plants, and they are there all over there, then the freight cost should come down to about 13%, 14%. So there's about another 3% to 4% in the freight cost, so still the margin to improve. The operating leverage should be another 2% to 3% more.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystBut then, sir, the EBIDTA for this business can go up to 16%, 17% by this calculation.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. That's what I told the previous questioner, that I'm looking at these margins could go up -- sorry, yes, as I mentioned, in this business, I have always been talking in the conferences and earlier earning calls and all but 15%, 16% is anyhow going to come because if you remove Jhajjar and simply look at the current 2 flagships, Miryalaguda and Delwadi, as of now itself, in this quarter, for those 2 plants individually, if you see, we are already at 13%. So that is a potential. So when -- once the capacity utilization improves in these 3 plants, automatically, 15% will come. So I'm looking at much higher margins for EBITDA. I think this business is going to grow. And actually, the component of this business now. It's growing now, in fact, as this is current share in the overall company's business, has come down to 54.7% this quarter compared to 59.8% last year third quarter, and to 65 -- to 61.5% this year 9 months when compared to 65.3%. So the -- as this current share is coming down and if the high-volume gross margin -- gross business margins also going up, we will see overall balance in the overall company's margins at a higher level.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystSir, can you repeat what is the percentage of Asbestos in 3 months as a percentage of total sales? And 9 months as well?
Vepa Vallinath
executive3 months is 54.7%.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analyst54%?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. And 9 months is 61.5%. As I was telling, we were looking at bringing it down to 50%. I think it will happen. In between, slightly, again, as was mentioned, it will grow a little bit. So -- but again, the boards will be growing at a much higher, faster rate, even on a lower base. And I think it's only a matter time before we see 50-50. And there's good margins and by that time the board gross margins will be very good.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And what is your outlook on Spinning?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveSpinning will continue to do well. This year, we did -- right now, this quarter, I think we did an EBITDA of something around close to 15%. And the fourth quarter's idea, as we talk, I think, is very exciting. It will do very well. The fourth quarter is also already -- we're confident that we'll do very well. Maybe we'll be able to maintain these margins in the fourth quarter also. So this quarter was 14.9% compared to last year's quarter 11.5%. And for the 9 months, it's 15% as compared to 12.8% last year. So I think, I mean, plus/minus 1% or 2%, I think we'll do well. And the volumes also, I think, this quarter will be good.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And sir, what about our debt level?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYou mentioned that. Debt level is about INR 241 crore at the end of December, '19 compared to INR 291 crore at the end of December '18, which is a reduction of INR 50 crore.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And sir, what about Q-o-Q reduction?
Vepa Vallinath
executivePardon me?
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystWhat about -- like in September, how much was it?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveSeptember. I think September, it is more or less same.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And sir, any debt reduction plans for this quarter? Like Q4? Like what are your debt reduction plans in...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveQ4 will be further reduction. How much, I cannot say because mostly raw material cost should have a working capital debt reduction that will take place. But in -- yes, September 2019 was INR 254 crore -- INR 242 crore, so December and September, more or less same. But when compared to last year December, it has come down. I think March also, it will come down definitely.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystAnd sir, how do we expect debt levels to be in FY '21? Do we have any targets, like we want to reduce it by a certain amount or...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveAnd what we have to say is that if I can maintain the debt at the current level or maybe slightly reduced, after incurring INR 80 crores to INR 90 crores for the new project by FY '21. I think you'll be seeing more or less the same kind of a debt, but on a much higher block of assets and more better assets, which itself will be an indirect way of looking at the reduction. Where I'm investing INR 80 crores, INR 90 crores from internal accrual into the project, it is going to generate revenue. So the cash flow is going to service the same quantum of debt, will be much higher.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystYes, yes. And what is your competition in boards and panels business?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveWhat do you mean by -- actually everyone knows...
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystSir, if everyone knows your competition, and is a certain part of the market served by import?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveImports are not a big threat. Imports are not much, there's only 1 big company which is doing some amount of import. But we have become the segment leaders now. We are holding a market share of something close to 35%. And with the fourth plant, we'll be growing it further. And therefore, now, I think in this business, I think we are fairly -- very strongly placed, and we are quite aggressive. We intend to be aggressive in this business and also be at the top end of the margins and a much bigger market share.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. So what would be a competition in boards and panels?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveEverest Industries is there. The other industries is there. Samko is there. And some amount of imports from Shera as well.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. So this new Coimbatore plant is not going to throw any revenues next year, right, in FY '21?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveIn FY '21, it will be commissioned, towards the end of FY '21. We will start seeing the revenues from -- reasonable revenues from FY '22, by which time, we would have established 15%-plus margins in the existing 3 brands -- plants. And out of these, a reasonably good capacity utilization. So that these new products' volume will be abrupt.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystAnd how much have you already spent on Coimbatore CapEx?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveAbout INR 15 cores, INR 20 crore we have spent, but now it will be aggressively and it will start increasing. Quarter -- every quarter now, it will be more our effort to make big.
Operator
operatorOur next question is from the line of Praveen Sahay from Edelweiss.
Praveen Sahay
analystWhat's the estimated total CapEx for Coimbatore?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveINR 80 crores to INR 90 crore, Praveen.
Praveen Sahay
analystINR 80 crores to INR 90 crores. And as you had given detailed update on the boards and panel that your margin has improved in the adjacent plants, but due to of Jhajjar, there is some costs because of 50% utilization. Now this is going forward as well. Once your Jhajjar will stabilize, your Coimbatore will come. And -- so that will, again, further impact your margin. So in the next, say, next financial year or next year -- 2 years, we are not going to see a high margin of what you are guiding for the 16 or beyond that. So is it the right assessment, what I am saying?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. You have looked at it this way. When we have 2 plants, one smaller plant in Telangana and one larger plant in Pune. On top of it, the third plant will be a slightly higher load. So therefore, the margins, there will be some impact of the margin -- on the margins because of third plant. But 3 plants at full capacity, and then the fourth plant coming, the impact on the total margin because of the fourth plant will not be as much as it has been today because of the third plant. Right? And not only that, by then, the margins in the existing 3 businesses would have grown to certain level that, that will not be really seen as a big effect. And as the market demand is going up, I think the scaling-up of this business is also getting easier. Now if we grow at 20% on the overall business, which means suppose we start selling our 1,50,000 ton or 1,60,000 tons by end of by end of -- 1,80,000 tons by end of FY '21, already 20% means the breakeven time was going to be much, much faster. So therefore, the margin impact has not been so high even. I have seen a similar scenario when I was growing in the other flagship business earlier. Initially, whenever a new plant is put up, I used to see an impact on the margin. But as we -- fourth plant came, fifth plant came, sixth plant came, then it's hardly, it's about 1% difference, right? In the overall margin, that will no effect so high. So the margins should be good and the growth will keep on taking place, and that would be very -- an exciting period.
Praveen Sahay
analystAnd just growth in boards and panel is largely driven by the Jhajjar unit and the volume? Or is there an improvement in the realization as well?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveRealization, there is a small increase. But I think since we are now also aggressively growing market share, the realization increase has not been so significant because in any case, raw material cost is coming down, freight cost is coming down. But realization increase is Pune-related [ picture, ] and that will be another addition to the margins. So, so far, it has not happened. So it's more of volume increase because of this operating leverage, it's raw material price reduction and freight cost structure.
Praveen Sahay
analystSo now you've become the largest in the boards and panels. So you are driving the pricing in the market?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveWe have a significant influence, but ultimately, we have to take the industry. We have to work with the industry, right? We alone can't be different, but yes, we definitely get a premium.
Praveen Sahay
analystAnd how big the market itself become now? That's boards and panel market ?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveBoards and market -- panel business could be about 6 lakh tons in the country today. And I see this 6 lakh tons to go to about 1 million tons in next 2 to 3 years.
Praveen Sahay
analystOkay. Okay. And next question related to your roofing segment. You said that the price increase you had taken already? Or you will take for the...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveIt's already in February, it has been announced, some amount of impact may come. But progressively, as manufacturers are increasing prices every month, even though the full impact of the latest announcement doesn't come, the previous price increase will stick up. So like that, progressively the prices will increase.
Praveen Sahay
analystSo because of steel prices increase, you had also taken a price hike. But whether it's absorbed in the market or not?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveThat what I said. Now we are expecting the market also to improve, and therefore, the absorption should be better, and therefore, we should be able to increase the margins -- increase the prices better. So far, the absorption has been poor.
Praveen Sahay
analystSo have you ever -- have you seen in this like -- Jan is already done, 10 days off of February is also done. So have you seen an improvement in the roofing business in the volume terms?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveFebruary is not done because in 10 days, nothing happens. In the first 10 days, nothing happens. So in literally, February and March is there. January is done. January has not been so great. But volume-wise it's okay, but price increase has not taken place in January.
Praveen Sahay
analystSo is there any indicator you are seeing, an early indicator on basis of that, you are saying that this will improve? And I will take on a price hike? And that will absorb as well in the market? So any indicator have you've seen in the rural market?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. I have -- the indicator that we are seeing is that the harvest is coming out, it is going to come out very well. The competing product, steel prices have gone up significantly. And then we are seeing a lot of push of expenditure on various different schemes by the government in the rural sector. And these are indicators we have seen. But it's only a matter of time before the volumes and the prices will improve. Because all other things have gone up slower. With a lag, can also grow.
Operator
operatorWe'll take the next question from the line of Kalpesh Gothi from Valentis Advisors.
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystSir, can -- you spoke about as the store demand volume growth for the next 6 months, what you see. Can we see still degrowth in the volume?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNo. In the next 6 months, I don't think that you're going to see degrowth in the volume. We are very -- quite optimistic of a growth in volume and also a growth in price.
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystOkay. So the prices will remain same?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveSo far, yes, but the prices should improve now.
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystOkay. So the margin...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveWhen the volume uptick takes place, the previous question that Mr. Praveen also asked, earlier Viraj also, as the volume increase happens, and the steel prices also having gone up, there is a good chance for us to increase the price. And we will have to increase it in such a way, that they -- slowly step-by-step, the market -- it gets absorbed in the market. But the price increase will definitely take place.
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystRight, right. So sir, the -- for the full year, I think, can we achieve 12% kind of EBITDA margin?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNo. For the 9 months, the margins -- for the full year, how much you said?
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analyst12%, 12%. 12%, 13%.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. Easily, easily because the 9 months already, the margins are at 12%. So even if I maintain that margin, it will be 12%.
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystYes. So the board and panel, is it that more volume is coming in Q4 and Q1?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. It will come, but even Q3....
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystThis is seasonal, right?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes -- no, in the sense, the seasonality is not as much as in Asbestos cement sheet, because what happens is, in Asbestos cement sheet is a roofing product. Therefore, the seasonality of construction in that product will be more. But in the case of boards and panels, we have a huge amount of volume in group for the interior products. So when it comes to interiors, the seasonality is slightly lesser. But nevertheless, nevertheless, January to June for the construction industry, it will be a better season, therefore, definitely the volumes will be better than the other quarters.
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystRight. So did we take a price increase in each of the product recently?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveIn the boards, there's a small price increase that has happened, but that's not something we can -- where can we can boast of. But I think a major part of the price increases will take place in the future. Right now, we are looking at improving margins without the price increase and also increasing volumes and expanding.
Kalpesh Gothi;Valentis Advisors Pvt Ltd;Investment Analyst
analystOkay. And sir, your new plant will start generating revenue from Q1 of FY '22?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes, yes. Sure.
Operator
operatorWe'll take our next question from the line of Riya S from Kitara Capital.
Nimish Desai
analystYes. Nimish here from this side. Do we have any component of our raw material imports from China?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNo, no, no. Nothing from China.
Nimish Desai
analystSo there's no supply constraint? And do we have an import substitute in the market for -- from a competition from China for imports does comes from [ other... ]
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNo. Substitution also is not there.
Nimish Desai
analystThat is also not there?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNo. That is not -- so therefore, import from China is not there which could affect us. And the import substitute of finished products is also not there, which could help us. Either way, we are not connected to China.
Operator
operatorOur next question is from the line of Viraj Kacharia from Securities Investment Management.
Viraj Kacharia
analystAgain, from what you said in the roofing, so in Jan, the volume degrowth, has that been arrested? Or we're still seeing the volume degrowing in roofing?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveJanuary, there is a slight degrowth when compared to last year's Jan.
Viraj Kacharia
analystOkay. Got it.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveBut it is not as it was in the earlier month. So it is coming down, coming down. No, I mean -- yes, that I -- call me separately, I'll tell you in detail.
Operator
operatorOur next question is from the line of Ritika Garg from Aequitas Investment.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystSir, is there any impact of the budget?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. Budget -- in fact, there's a detailed discussion on the Board meeting about the impact of budget on our products. I think the Board broadly felt that the budget is a very useful budget for the rural economy. The government have done so much for the industry and the individuals, et cetera, so-called separate rate regime for the smaller income groups and others is not going to so great with the exemptions being removed and all that. But I think to the entire -- I think a major part of the economic budget is only for the defense and the rest of it is entirely rural, in a sense they have done it in a very inconvenient manner because of Ayushman Bharat, there is something as Swachh Bharat, something else and all that. So I think all these things are going to add some amount of jobs and money flow in the rural market. And we are very comfortable, we are happy with the kind of a budget that has produced.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And what is the kind of volume growth we see in Spinning? We don't see much, right? In the next year?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveIn Spinning, you can see another 3% growth and after that, it will reach full capacity. Then we'll have to see how much more we can peak in terms of productivity. But I think that would be the peak.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystOkay. And what are...
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNext year, maybe another 3%. That's all.
Ritika Garg;Aequitas Investment Consultancy Pvt Ltd.;Vice President
analystAnd what are sustainable margins in Spinning?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveMa'am, as I always say, it is 12% to 16%, 17%. 12% to 16%. These are the margins in which they will be oscillating.
Operator
operator[Operator Instructions] The next question is from the line of Vikrant Kashyap from Kedia Securities.
Vikrant Kashyap;Kedia Securities Pvt. Ltd.;Sr. Research Analyst
analystCongrats on very bad economic conditions. You really performed well.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. Thank you so much, yes.
Vikrant Kashyap;Kedia Securities Pvt. Ltd.;Sr. Research Analyst
analystSir, one thing on Asbestos cements, you are gearing up for a volume -- price growth in, say, in next quarter, even if you are not taking this month-end March, you said accelerated price hike will be in this quarter. Do you see industries also geared up because -- since we have seen still December, competition has decreased price. Instead, you people have hold on to it?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNo. I think the movement will be across the industry. No single company can increase price alone. Just understand this because the top 4 or 5 people together hold a 70% market share. So anyone who plays vile sport, they affect the market, right? They may take a little volume, but they'll incur losses. So -- but I think over a period of time if someone has been closely following, one would see that, whoever tried to show a higher volume have dropped margins and lowered [ controlled ] margins but maintained price threshold on better margins. So -- but now, I think the opportunity seems to be seen by the entire market, all the -- entire industry. And the steel prices going up, the last year's monsoon has been good and the effect of which will be felt now, and the budget being totally rural-focused, all these factors are being seen very positive for the industry, and we're just waiting for the signals. January has not gone as bad as it was in the earlier quarters, and that gives us a little more confidence that as the budget also has given effective step-by-step. I think the next 2 months will be good and the entire industry will do well, will improve prices. And people who are better placed in terms of cost and controls, et cetera, will benefit even better.
Vikrant Kashyap;Kedia Securities Pvt. Ltd.;Sr. Research Analyst
analystRight. So can we expect like some kind of volume growth in FY '21? Any number that you can think of?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveWe should have, I mean, if the current trend continues, and next year monsoon also going to be good, if you talk about FY '21, I think we need to see at least about 8% growth in our volume.
Vikrant Kashyap;Kedia Securities Pvt. Ltd.;Sr. Research Analyst
analystOkay, that's good. And sir, on boards and panels, you have performed very well. And since your Jhajjar is up to 50% and your -- the market is very good. So I'm trying to understand the customer profile, how they are informed about your product because since the market is really uninformed, you people are trying to do very well, and we are doing very well on -- to providing them information. But how has been the trend? How is -- your going? And which segment in terms of geography, you can tell me who are the players who are looking at your product and how things are panning up?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveSee Visaka has been at the forefront ever since we started increasing market awareness and also increasing the participation of different segments of the market, like architects, carpenters, interior decorators, builders, what you call project management consultants, PMCs, and even the dealers and distributors. Initially we used to have distributor. So the commercial and industry contribute significantly. And then, of course, the highways, some applications in the residential segment has started, right? So the awareness is constantly increasing. We have to have -- we also have a limitation on the amount of money that we can spend on this, though, we are one of the people who are spending a lot of money on this. And we are creating the -- kind of an awareness. We are participating in exhibitions. Distributors are being appointed. So lots of incentives are being given. And therefore, the awareness is definitely increasing. But when the awareness fully increases, then this industry will be totally differently. Already some of the people whom I met, some interior decorators or home automation companies that I met them and talked to them. And then something we are discussing about the products with some of the reasons, home automation, and we are talking about different kinds of products. And they said, V boards, yes, sir. That has become a craze now, he said. And I said, I represent that company I told him. So we were -- of course, so you understand this business very well and industry very well. So there is an awareness because in the end one more interior decorator I was talking to some other day, he was saying, yes sir, V board -- now it has become very popular. Actually that is what I heard in Hyderabad. And I'm sure in Mumbai, there's a lot of awareness.
Vikrant Kashyap;Kedia Securities Pvt. Ltd.;Sr. Research Analyst
analystYes, yes. That's very encouraging.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveAnd Gujarat, there is a lot, lot, lot of awareness. So East, also awareness has increased. South of course, there is a lot of awareness we already counted. In Kerala, there is -- everyone, every man on the street knows about V board now in Kerala.
Operator
operator[Operator Instructions] Our next question is from the line of Sanjay Shah from Alphaline Wealth.
Sanjay Shah;Alphaline Wealth Advisors LLP
analystSir, we have talked lot about boards and [ AS. ] Can you update on ATUM as a product? How do you see its future? What are the flip and feedback we get from the customers? And what are the expectations of the management coming in next 1, 2 years?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveNow so far, whatever projects we have executed, the customers were very happy. And the others have put it in corporate office, our ATUM plans. And now on the Jhajjar plant also, we are now putting one shed at ATUM. We see the power generation being very good. Right? And therefore -- and the second thing is that we have received an international certificate, U.S. certification to sell in U.S. and Europe. So we have done 2 exhibition in the U.S. and recently in the solar -- Intersolar Exhibition Las Vegas, where we participated in it, a huge amount of response. So recently Mr. Vamsi Krishna went and met the [ international professional ] because someone from the U.S. who was involved with some projects there referred and they have taken in there because of seeing the exhibition. And he went and met the CM's personal secretary and other people there. And they also showed a lot of interest. So there's a lot of interest, but I think this business also, because it's also roofing comes at solar, so it is taking little time. We are hopeful that the product is very good. Like in boards and panels, we took some time to create the market, market awareness, confidence of the market coming and all that, which also, I think, will take some time. But we are very optimistic about this product, once it picks up, there's no competition for this product like-to-like. No, we are confident. So in the Board, of course, people are talking about INR 30 crore, INR 40 crore next year, turnover, et cetera. If we do INR 30 crore, INR 40 crore, maybe close to, then I think it will -- at least cover all the cost and therefore, it will contribute to the margins. The product is very interesting. So far, the applications who are implemented, including the Japanese company and one data center and others, they're very happy. And now we have got some other 2 good projects going on and these refinances will add to the increasing profile.
Sanjay Shah;Alphaline Wealth Advisors LLP
analystThat's great. Sir, with this INR 30 crore, INR 40 crore turnover, will be able to cover all our cost?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes, I think a major part, yes.
Sanjay Shah;Alphaline Wealth Advisors LLP
analystSir, in V board and panels, have we added any new corporate customer this quarter?
Vepa Vallinath
executiveThat's an ongoing process, actually. There are customers, corporate customers. Corporate customers means in the industrial and commercial. Yes. A lot of the customers are getting added. In the other cases, yes, corporate customer is getting added, but it's not that no it will be product, in some of the parts of investments we have added that this product is used in all the applications. We can have a use in 1 or 2 applications. But the customer profile is improving. The product penetration is improving. The brand penetration is increasing. The product and the name is becoming common now. Everyone is understanding, because whomever I talk to, now they're able to recall the product very well. So that's good for the -- and then we have added some new designs. We have now come out with colored designer boards. And then -- now we are doing also incentivization of dealers and carpenter to come aboard. All these things are adding value now because we understand that how these things are happening. So we have now increased our penetration techniques better.
Sanjay Shah;Alphaline Wealth Advisors LLP
analystGreat, sir. Great. Sir, before concluding, I would like to congratulate you and management for a generous distribution from [ what I can see, sir. ]
Vepa Vallinath
executiveThank you very much. Thank you so much. Yes, because that comes from the confidence that now growth is improving, Spinning is doing well, as this has grown to only -- it's only a matter of time, it will improve. And then ATUM is also coming up, it is building up and all that. So I think the future seems to be good, and we are going to expand. Plus investors will lose tax there if I declare anything after April, March, so we give a tax dividend of each share so that more the yield improves. So the -- all these things we have discussed and then accordingly -- and there is some amount of requests from the market that dividend payout has to increase. So therefore, as of now, though, the performance has not significantly improved. There was again a corporate tax reduction. All these things taken into account. So immediately, the numbers don't compare very well when compared last year, 9 months. But seeing the future and how the business model is shaping up, we thought we can increase the payout to the shareholders. So that's what the Board considered and increased, and I'm quite happy that you expressed it.
Operator
operatorThank you. Ladies and gentlemen, that was the last question. I would now like to hand over the floor to Mr. Vepa Vallinath for closing comments. Over to you, sir.
Vepa Vallinath
executiveYes. Thank you, friends. And as I already explained, I think, we discussed in detail. The fundamental thing that I would like to share is that we are trying to reduce dependence on our [ core customer center ] but while reducing the dependence on our systems, the product that we are building up is -- actually we have -- we are the market leaders in each of those businesses that we are creating. So we are slow and steady. So whatever we have said in Board's meeting the past many years that we'll become #1. We have become. And whatever we said, the margins will grow at 4%, fixed cost will be lower, and we are doing this time. And therefore, the margin should improve further. I've always been telling that more than 15% margin should be seen in this business, even up to 20% at some time. And we are conscious of the debt and the cost of debt, the cost of debts are now -- average cost of debt close to 7%, 7.5%, 7%, 7.25%. So the clock's on our time and as the Asbestos cement sheet business also, I think, have seen a tough place and this day, in the last 32 years in this company for me, I've seen this scenarios quite a lot of times. And the product has its own appeal in certain segments, however much steel sheets and other things come. So they will definitely -- it will again grow. It will again improve some time, it will be. Margins also will improve. And steel prices going up and the consolidation or some amount of companies being bought by other companies and, therefore, increasing the steel prices and all that, but all bodes well for our business. And therefore, we see a good time to come in the next 6 months and the next 1 year. So that's all I have to say. And of course, the Boards will be has -- can be keenly watched from now onwards to get exciting business. Thank you, gentlemen, and wish you all the best.
