So Gavin, talk about your projects and what you've got going on at the moment.

Gavin Ferrar

Thanks, Rosie. I think we've come in off a very good year of production at both Kounrad and Sasa. Kounrad, we outperformed guidance with the copper production. And at Sasa, we're within guidance for zinc. Slight miss on lead, but very happy with the production that we achieved last year. Clearly faced a few inflationary pressures through the second half of the year, but hope to get out some good results from March this year.

So tell us more about what we can expect to hear from Kounrad over the next year or so.

Well, Kounrad production is set fair, so we've fully invested in terms of producing copper there. But what we have done is designed and we started construction, in fact, of a solar plant, which will provide around 20% of our energy inputs, and that will have a really positive impact on our greenhouse gas emissions from that particular project. So we're very proud of that from our ESG credentials. At Sasa, in terms of investment there, we're continuing to invest in that asset and are implementing our Cut and Fill Project, which is going to be a transition of our mining method from sublevel cave, which is the current method into cut and fill. There's 3 reasons we're doing that. One is health and safety. It's a much more robust method of mining in terms of protecting our staff from any exposed and unsupported ground. It is a much more efficient way of extracting the mineral resource, so suffer less mining dilution through that cup and fill method. And last but not least, it also gives us a future tailing strategy, where we're going to be putting a lot of our tailings underground and will obviate the requirement for any future surface tailings facilities.

So we're out here in Cape Town during Mining Indaba. What are the key messages you're trying to get across to investors out here?

Gavin Ferrar

executive
#8

Well, certainly from -- when I'm speaking to investors out here, we emphasize our low-cost production and through-the-cycle product -- sorry, through-the-cycle profitability. That allows us to pay a class-leading dividend in relation to other London-listed miners. But we're also actively on the business development trail. We are looking for new assets. We like certain parts of Africa. We have looked at mining projects in places such as Botswana and Namibia before, and that's part of the remit why I'm down here is to originate some new ideas, and we are actively looking to grow the business through acquisition. Having said that, we're also looking within the regions that we operate, clearly because they -- good center of gravity in those places, gives us an opportunity to expand the business there as well.
