operator[Foreign Language] [Operator Instructions] The first question comes from Pareto of Citibank.
Pierre Lau
analyst[Interpreted] My first question is about the -- could you please provide the third quarter's thermal wind, solar average tariff and what is the year-on-year change? And could you talk about the unit fuel cost as the -- in the last 2 quarters, the company have continuous rising unit fuel cost. What will be the company's unit fuel cost guidance for the fourth quarter and for the year 2025? Third, could you please give us the profit to different energy sectors breakdown?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] Firstly, let me give you the average tariff breakdown to different energy sources. In the third quarter 2024, the average tariff for coal sector was CNY 480.98 per megawatt hour; gas, CNY 711.67 per megawatt hour; wind, CNY 519.03 per megawatt hour; solar, CNY 430.2; Hydro, CNY 360.86; and biomass, 749. For those numbers for the third quarter last year, for coal, it was CNY 492.46; gas, CN 722.76; wind, 538.25; solar, 471.06; Hydro, 364.98; and biomass 751. [Interpreted] Please let me answer your question about the guidance for the coal price in 2025. We think the supply and demand will be improved in 2025 and the average coal price will continue to decrease on the basis of this year. [Interpreted] First, on the supply side, as the government attached great importance to the energy safety, we think in terms of supply, the supply will be stable and have increased in next year. [Interpreted] As the -- for the overseas market, we think it will continue this year's trend. However, in 2025, we have already have a large imported coal around 500 million tonnes. So we think the supply will be high, however, with limited increase. [Interpreted] As for the transportation capability have improved for the transportation, we think there will be a relaxed transportation next year. [Interpreted] All those 3 factors, we think the supply for the 2025 will have a slight increase comparing to this year. [Interpreted] From the demand side, as the government have released certain policies around the -- promote the economy and stabilize the growth. We think that will help with the macroeconomy next year. [Interpreted] However the capacity of renewables continue to grow in next year, we believe the part generation from renewable will continue to increase, and that will dampen the power generation for thermal power. [Interpreted] So we believe in 2025, the consumption of coal will stay stable comparing to 2024. [Interpreted] Considering all this factor, it is estimated that the supply and demand situation will be improved in 2025. However, there still might be some tightness in some period of time and in some regions. We think the average price will continue to fall on the basis of this year, however, with limited amount. [Interpreted] Please let me answer your questions about the forecast for the fourth quarter this year. [Interpreted] As there will be a normalized safety inspection in the fourth quarter -- and in some -- in some major mines, they will try to follow up their annual target. We think the production for the coal in the first quarter will have a slight increase. [Interpreted] Because we have price premium comparing to the domestic market, we think the imported coal will remain at a high level in the first quarter. [Interpreted] From the demand side, although there are certain policies that [indiscernible] by the government, but we think the implementation may take time. [Interpreted] The macroeconomy may still face some pressure. However, with the coal consumption increase, we think the residential use of the coal will continue to increase. [Interpreted] In the first quarter, the consumption for coal is high. However, it has limited increasing amount and the inventory at high level I think there is not a great chance that the coal price will continue to rise. [Interpreted] Because the first quarter is the peak season for coal. So there won't be a great drop for the coal price. And in the fourth quarter, it is estimated that the coal price will fluctuate in a certain range and the average price will have slight increase comparing to the third quarter. [Interpreted] However, the rest amount will be limited.
Biquan Gu
executive[Interpreted] First, please let me give you the unit fuel cost in third quarter this year and last year. The thermal unit fuel cost for the third quarter this year is CNY 303.47 per kilowatt hour. And for the last -- third quarter last year, it was CNY 332.52. [Interpreted] Please let me give you the profit to different energy resources. For the coal sector, it was CNY 6.568 billion, Gas sector, CNY 856 million, wind CNY 5.2 billion, solar CNY 2.43 billion, Hydro, CNY 119 million. And for the Biomass, it was negative CNY 453 million. [Interpreted] As for your question about the company's asset impairment, the company will always there for the asset impairment and being authentic and reliable and to apply the certain accounting standards. As always, the company will continue our consistency and fairness and to evaluate the impairment side. [Interpreted] With the help of the professional agency, we have run test for the impairment side. [Interpreted] By the end of the third quarter, according to the company's subsidiaries, operation and management situation as well as the government policy, the company has evaluated the impairment side with the help of our evaluator [indiscernible]. And we have evaluated 2 power plants, including the thermal power engineering and the Biomass [indiscernible] [Interpreted] With the help of our auditor, we have assets impairment in the third quarter for Jiangjin power plant. The asset impairment was about CNY 727 million for the non and biomass, the impairment was about CNY 409 million. [Interpreted] In the following quarter, the company will continue to follow the requirement from the accounting standard and continue to track the impairment considering the changes in the situation. [Interpreted] The company will stay consistently in applying the accounting standard and our accounting principle, whether there will be asset impairment, we were based on the operating status and the government policies.

operator[Interpreted] The next question comes from Yan of Kate.
Unknown Analyst
analyst[Interpreted] I have 3 questions. First, as in the third quarter, we have entered the summer peak, the income from ancillary services have decreased. So could you please provide us the ancillary services income for each quarter in the first 3 quarters? Second, could you give us the standard coal price for our coal units in the third quarter alone? And could you please give us the coal consumption rate and also the year-on-year change? Third, could you clarify that the profit you gave before, is that profit before tax or it's a net profit? Could you please give us the net profit breakdown?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] Please, let me give you the number of income from our ancillary services for our coal sector. In the first quarter, the income was CNY 1.143 billion, second quarter CNY 823 million, third quarter CNY 447 million. [Interpreted] The number I gave you before is the profit before tax. So as follows are the profit breakdown as the profit for the equity base. [Interpreted] The profit to the equity holders for the company at the coal sector CNY 3.53 billion, gas CNY 245 million, wind CNY 4.1 billion, solar CNY 2.025 billion, Hydro CNY 100 million, Biomass negative CNY 444 million. [Interpreted] And the unit fuel cost for our coal sector in the third quarter this year, it was CNY 293.06 for the last year, it was CNY 323.89 million. [Interpreted] The standard coal price for the third quarter was CNY 1009.52 per ton, decreasing by 4.1% year-on-year. [Interpreted] The net profit breakdown to different energy sources are as follows: for the coal sector CNY 5.054 billion, Gas CNY 598 million, Wind CNY 4.609 billion, solar CNY 2.243 billion, Hydro CNY 104 million, Biomass negative CNY 415 million. [Interpreted] For the coal consumption rate for our coal sector in the first quarter, it was 303.33 per gram.

operator[Interpreted] The next question comes from [indiscernible]. [Interpreted] the next question comes from Sandy Secretaries Santee. [Foreign Language] The next question comes from Morgan Stanley of [indiscernible]
Unknown Analyst
analyst[Interpreted] I have 2 questions. First, what is the company's CapEx for the first 3 quarters? And does it have reached the company? And what will be the company's forecast for the CapEx for whole year 2024? And what will be the company's CapEx that spent on the renewable projects? Second quarter about the company's signing of the next year's power purchasing agreement. What will be the signing situation? And what will be the price range for the next year? And my third question is also about the asset impairment. What will be the company's asset impairment in the fourth quarter? And could you give us the year-on-year change comparing to last year?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] So please let me give you the CapEx spend this year in the first 3 quarter. [Interpreted] The company capital expenditure in the first third quarter was around CNY 33 billion, and the renewable expenditure was about CNY 21.8 billion. [Interpreted] Please let me answer your questions about the company's renewable additions. In the first 9 months, the company have had 5.22 gigawatts of renewable capacity, and we still hold our 10 gigawatts annual tech target and it is unchanged. And as in the fourth quarter, the company will insist on the high-quality development principle and to find projects that can met our investment hurdle rate, even set a higher requirement for our resource and to make sure all our projects can meet the company's need. [Interpreted] and let me answer the questions about the signing of our power purchase agreement in the year 2025 as the government haven't released any guidance or documents for the next year's signing, the company only have begun this work. And our strategy is that the power we signed should not be less than the capacity share of the region and the tariff rate signed should not be less than the average tariff of the market. [Interpreted] However, the tariff for the next year signing is very hard to say. We can judge that on the basis of the following factors, first the coal price might decrease next year and the proportion of the renewable participating in the market might be increased and we faced the downward pressure for the tariff. And we think it's very hard to forecast the tariff level. Because we also to consider the utilization error as well as the capacity tariffs. So it's a comprehensive result. [Interpreted] About the company's asset impairment, the company didn't have any plan or guidance about asset impairment and whether there will be following asset impairments will be based on the policies as well as our unit conditions. So there won't be any guidance.
Operator
operator[Interpreted] The next question comes from [indiscernible].
Unknown Analyst
analyst[Interpreted] I have 3 questions. First, the number [ CNY 1,009 ] per ton standard coal price. Is that for the thermal unit? Could you please give us the standard coal price for our coal-fired units? And could you give us what the proportion of the long-term coal purchase that have settled in the government regulated price range? And what is the year-on-year change for that? Second, about the company's nonoperating expense. As the nonoperating expense have increased in the third quarter, could you give us more details on that? Third, what is the company's third quarter's curtailment rate for wind and solar? And is that possible that in the same region, the wind curtailment is smaller than the solar curtailment?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] First, let me clarify that. The CNY 109.52 per ton, standard coal price is for our purchasing price instead of our consuming coal. In the first quarter, the company's long-term contract coal was 80.16 million tons, decreasing by 1.99%. About the pricing mechanism. There are 2 pricing mechanisms: first is the base price plus fluctuation, others, fixed price. All of our -- most of our contracts is in line with government regulation. The standard coal price for our coal sector was CNY 946.16 per ton. This is tax excluded. About the company's nonoperating expense, in the third quarter, it has increased by CNY 690 million. It can be divided into 4 parts: first, the September 6 typhoon has affected our Hainan assets by CNY 212 million. And on April 2, our solar in Jiangxi have had some hail hazard and it has an asset impairment amount to CNY 86 million. For the Hainan and the Jiangxi assets will have insurance covered and insurance is investing in progress. The third part is our carbon trading expense have increased by CNY 350 million. And the first part is some [ flue ] gas renovation for our power generation, the asset impairment was about CNY 38 million. Please let me give you the number of the wind and solar curtailment. In the first 9 months, the wind curtailment was 5.23%, increasing by 1.28 percentage points. The solar curtailment rate for the first 9 months was 4.16%, increasing by 2.36 percentage points. And in the province of Hunan and Shandong, they have a higher solar curtailment than the wind curtailment.
Unknown Analyst
analyst[Interpreted] So what is the reason that most of our operating regions have a higher wind curtailment?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] That was majorly because, first, there is a rapid growth in those areas for the renewable capacity. Second, the great structure is -- has some problem relating to the curtailment. Third, it's about the adjusting capability in those areas.
Operator
operator[Interpreted] The next question comes from Alan Lau of Jefferies Hong Kong Limited.
Alan Lau
analyst[Interpreted] I have 3 questions. First, what is the proportion for our imported coal and spot market coal in the first 3 months? Second, could you give us the capacity tariff for our each power -- each unit of power sales in the third quarter? Third, as we have some discussion in the solar industry that there's a limitation for the solar panel for the model, about CNY 0.868 per watt. So what will be the companies attitude towards this policy? Will the company purchase if the price is lower than the benchmark?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] In the first quarter, the company's coal purchase from spot market accounts for 15.7% of our total purchase. Imported coal accounted for 31.08%. In the third quarter, we estimate that our capacity tariff payment will be amounted to CNY 2.363 billion and it is CNY 21.94 per megawatt hour. So in the third quarter, the company's purchasing model price was around CNY 0.62 per watt to CNY 0.78 per watt, and it's about the same level to the limitation that is CNY 0.68 per watt. And the price limitation, it's only -- it's not the government released requirement, and we should follow the market rules.
Operator
operator[Interpreted] The next question comes from Xiang Li of Citic Securities.
Xiang Li
analyst[Interpreted] I have 2 questions. First, it's related to renewable capacity. As we can see, the consumption pressure have been increased in the market. So what is the company's development plan for renewable? And will the company adjust our development goal for renewable in the future? Second, about the -- our thermal power development. So in 2022 to 2023, for the purpose of ensuring the supply, the government have approved multiple new thermal units. However, how will the company review this new capacity from thermal? Will that have a great impact to the industry and to the company and what is the company's response and measures to this new trend?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] First, let me answer your questions about the company's renewable capacity target. As the company has already set the target in the beginning of the year, we will continue to strive to fulfill this goal, and the company has sufficient resources of renewable capacity that will support us to complete this goal. And this is also a goal of the company's green transition and high-quality development. The company have multiple resources. So we'll choose from the projects and ensure our investment quality and we'll continue our refined management to improve the quality of the newly added capacity. And we quite -- we also know the investors' concern about the curtailment issue and the company has designed a certain process in our decision-making and we have set some criteria when we decide whether we will invest in the renewable capacity. And there also will be some adjustment mechanism to ensure our decision-making and ensure our high-quality development in renewable. By the end of September 2024, the thermal capacity reached 1.42 billion kilowatts, and the coal fired capacity reached 1.18 billion kilowatts. And by the end of the year, it is estimated that thermal capacity will be around 1.46 billion kilowatts, and for coal units, it will be around 1.2 billion kilowatts. And by the end of 2025, it is estimated that the capacity will reach 1.5 billion kilowatts. And by the end of 2030, it will be around 1.82 billion kilowatts. And for the company's strategy, the company will maintain the quality of our coal project, and we will search for the project that being substitution for our shutting down project. And also, we will have some new projects that will help the green energy base and the government have now entered the preliminary research for the 15th 5-year plan. And in order to have a more settled guidance for this plan, we are doing some preliminary research. And the company will choose the power plants that have a better location and that in line with the government policy that will help to address the power system and provide flexibility to the power system to ensure a stable operation of our system.
Operator
operator[Interpreted] The next question comes from [indiscernible].
Unknown Analyst
analyst[Interpreted] I have 2 questions. First, could you talk about the reason that the profit before tax for wind growth rate is higher than our power generation growth rate? And could you give us the breakdown to the tariff and cost so that we can analyze the reason for that? Second, could you give us the market-based tariff for our renewable power generation in the third quarter? And could you give us the year-on-year change as well as its discount the benchmark? Second question is about Tuas Power. So what is the operating situation in the third quarter for the Tuas Power, as the third quarter, we can see there is a profit increase? Could you give us some breakdown detail for the power generation, the tariffs as well as our fuel costs? And could you give us some guidance for the fourth quarter and for the year 2025?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] So first, let me answer your questions about market-based tariff in the third quarter. In the first 9 months, the company's market-based tariff for wind was CNY 460.2 per megawatt hour. It is 4.44% higher than the approved tariff. In the first 9 months, the market-based solar power tariff was CNY 432.81 per megawatt hour. It is 2.64% higher than the approved tariff. So please let me give you the cost breakdown of the third quarter for our wind sector. The depreciation was about CNY 1.5 billion, the financial cost about CNY 440 million. The profit has a quarter-on-quarter decrease about CNY 415 million. The main reason is because the tariffs have decreased for our wind sector. In the first 9 months, the average tariff for wind was CNY 519.03 per megawatt hour. In the same period last year, the tariff was CNY 538.25 per megawatt hour. It has a 3.57% decrease. So please let me give you the number of the Tuas Power business. So in the first quarter, the power generation for Tuas was CNY 2.72 billion kilowatt hour, increasing by CNY 9 million-kilowatt hour year-on-year and decreasing by CNY 62 million-kilowatt hour quarter-on-quarter. The average tariff for Tuas Power in the third quarter was CNY 1,204.72 per megawatt hour, decreasing by CNY 505 per megawatt hour year-on-year and CNY 188.19 per megawatt hour quarter-on-quarter. The profit for the Tuas in the third quarter was CNY 523 million, decreasing by CNY [indiscernible] million year-on-year and CNY 395 million quarter-on-quarter. The main reason for the decrease in the third quarter is as follows: the supply and demand situation and the fuel supply, the strategy of the Tuas Power. First, the supply-demand structure. In the third quarter, the fuel supply was very stable and sufficient and the contract fulfillment was very sufficient in the market. And for our peer companies, it dragged down the wholesale tariff for the whole market. In order to stabilize the tariff in the Singapore market, the authority of power generation in Singapore have introduced a temporary pricing cap in the wholesale market. And about the fuel sector, from July 2023, the Singapore authority have given the surplus natural gas for the generators that make the supply more sufficient. The company takes several measures to tackle with the situation. First, the company have optimized our structure of power supply and the company also have purchased the fuel to optimize our profit. From the third quarter 2023, the fluctuation in the wholesale market has been flat and the tariffs have begun to drop in the third quarter. And that also dragged down the retail tariffs. Our profit in the third quarter have decreased. Given that the market conditions have changed, the company have actively changed our policy and strategy and give up some power generation that have low marginal contribution to ensure our stable profit. In the fourth quarter, the company will have flexible competing strategy and intensified market competition to have optimized our trading strategy and strive for a better profit and operating outcome. And in the fourth quarter, the company will keep track on the market change and changed our market strategy in accordance with the market change and maintain safety production and to maximize our profit.
Unknown Analyst
analyst[Interpreted] So combining the October's wholesale market tariff, what will be the company's judgment in the wholesale tariff for the fourth quarter?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] About the company's judgment in the fourth quarter's power market, according to the Singapore authorities documents released combining the weather, the population and the micro economy changes in 2023 to 2032, it is estimated that the growth rate for the power utilization will be around 2.6% to 5.3%. The power consumption growth for the next 5 years will be around 3.4% to 6.5%. It is higher than the last 10 years' average. From the supply side, there will be limited solar and imported power added to the market and there will be no large-scale units that put into operation. However, in 2023, there is a unit that recovered their operation, and that will have an impact on the market. The company will actively research the market changes, both in the power market and fuel market to follow the policy changes and respond to the market changes and continued our refined management and lock up some retail contracts in advance to ensure the wholesale market power generation and margin contribution in a reasonable level.
Operator
operator[Interpreted] Due to time constraint, we invite the last investor to ask. The last question comes from [indiscernible].
Unknown Analyst
analyst[Interpreted] I have 2 questions. First about the company's expense related to the carbon trading. The company have carbon trading expense amounted to CNY 345 million. And could you give us more details on the company's carbon trading quota left? And what will be the company's expectation for the next year's carbon trading? Second, what is the company's coal purchasing plan for the next year? And what will be the company's long-term contract coal signing plan for the next year?
Unknown Executive
executive[Interpreted] Please let me answer your question about carbon trading. First, the carbon trading expense have increased because the price of carbon emission has increased to CNY 104. It has a 23% increase comparing to the last year's CNY 83. The second reason is that the government shrank the quota allocation and the missing gap can rise the carbon trading expense. The above 2 reasons have driven up the expense for the whole year. And another reason is the time line of our carbon trading because this year's most of our trading happened in the third quarter. And the government regulation released in October, we think we have more carbon trading that happens in the following months. And about the future forecast, this year, the company has a net expense in carbon trading. Next year, we estimated that the things will be better than this year. About the contract signing of coal for this year, the government hasn't released the official document for the contract signing for the next year. The company hasn't begun our work. The next year's purchasing will be determined by the government policy as well as our negotiation with our suppliers. The company will follow the government rule to signing the contract and to ensure our basic [ client ] for the coal purchasing. Thank you.
